The pulp & paper industry is one that is a veteran in problem-solving and cost-cutting in the face of adverse market conditions. Continuously cyclical, and constantly facing pressure from overseas markets, the pulp & paper industry of North America has been reliant on technologies like CoMate to improve boiler operation.

In the US and Canada, energy represents one of the highest costs to this industry, with roughly half of it produced in-house. In most cases, this cost is second only to the cost of pulping wood. More than ever before, getting the most energy out of that wood, while maximizing pulp production, is vital to the success of pulp and paper producers.

With this in mind, Atlantic Combustion Technologies has not only designed CoMate to work with biomass fuels, heavy oil and stoker coal, but also to work incredible wonders in recovery boilers. Slag and salt cake build-up are simply no longer a problem. With a recovery boiler capable of running at capacity for much greater lengths of time, the potential is there to increase pulp production significantly.
